Machine Cut vs. Polygonal: Which Cladding Fits Your Project

Our Cut Stones range comes in two distinct formats, and the right choice depends on the look and installation approach you want.

Machine Cut Tiles

Precision-machined rectangular gneiss tiles in consistent dimensions, available in three finishes:

  • All Side — machine cut on all sides, for a fully uniform, contemporary look
  • Two Side — machine cut on two sides, a more natural side profile
  • Split Face — hand-chiseled surface for an authentic handcrafted texture

Best for: clean architectural lines, predictable installation coverage, contemporary facades, and projects where consistent joint widths matter.

Polygonal / Flagstone

Natural cleft stone, hand-selected and irregularly shaped, in three sizes:

  • Small — ideal for decorative cladding and fine detail work
  • Big — for facades and paving with more prominent mineral texture
  • Flooring — a thicker, extra-durable format for outdoor paving and steps

Best for: an organic, authentic surface with natural transitions in color and texture — traditional and Mediterranean-style architecture, garden paving, and feature walls.

A quick way to decide

If your project drawings specify exact tile dimensions and joint patterns, choose Machine Cut. If you want a natural, non-repeating surface and have some flexibility in layout, choose Polygonal.

Both formats are available across our full range of colorways — from warm beiges and browns to greys, greens, and the distinctive Aegean and Metallic Rusty tones.
